A Forum for the Aluminum & Specialty Construction Industry.

VICTORY!!

At the Florida Board of Professional Engineers meeting on June 14, 2006 in Tampa, Fl, the board discussed, debated and took public testimony on there “Condemnation of Aluminum Design Manuals". Our attorney as well as attorney's for the Florida Home Builders and an attorney for the Florida Pool builder's and the AAF all made presentations.

Two building officials and 2 structural engineers made comments. We spoke on behalf on our association and the industry. There were more that 100 aluminum contractors and/or suppliers in attendance to support our opposition to the board decision. In the end, the board voted to rescind the condemnation of aluminum design manuals and to appoint a committee to consider the issue through a "rule-making" process. This process will allow all interested parties to provide input through public hearings. With this action, our legal "rules challenge" will be "stayed" until the rule making process proceeds. Our work on behalf of the industry will be very important through this process and you can be assured that we will make every effort to keep you informed and to represent the best interests of the industry! Please continue to spread the word through the industry that we are committed to continuing to speak for the collective interests of our industry and that we need the support of everyone in the industry.

Thanks for your support, we could not have done it without your support and we will be keeping you posted.
